Rhythm in Motion Dance is more than a training experience—it’s a movement dedicated to creation, connection, empowerment, and well-being. At RIM, we believe that true artistry extends beyond technique; it thrives in authenticity, self-discovery, and mental resilience. Through high-energy conventions, intensives, and elite training opportunities, we cultivate an environment where dancers are challenged, supported, and seen—not just as performers, but as individuals. RIM isn’t just about executing movement; it’s about feeling it, owning it, and growing through it. Every class, every session, every moment is designed to push boundaries, build confidence, and foster a community where dancers feel safe to take risks and evolve—both physically and mentally.

Meet our founder Dézja Symone

A Houston native, Dézja Symone is a dance educator, choreographer, adjudicator, and mentor with over 14 years of experience in choreography and training. She earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Lamar University, where she was a four-year member of the Lamar University Dance Team, and later earned her master’s degree in social work from Stephen F. Austin State University. Her background in social work deeply influences her approach to dance education, emphasizing not just technical excellence but also mental well-being and personal development.

As the founder and CEO of Rhythm in Motion Dance, Dézja created the company to foster positive, transformative learning experiences while also providing opportunities for up-and-coming artists and choreographers. She recognizes the value and passion in emerging talent and is committed to mentoring, developing, and elevating choreographers and dance educators by giving them a platform to refine their craft. Through RIM, Dézja strives to create a space where dancers and creators alike can grow, connect, and be empowered in their artistry.
